Cottonwood Canyon State Park

The newest state park in Oregon. We hike out here a lot! The trail follows the John Day River, designated as a Wild and Scenic River. Usually we see California Bighorn Sheep in the hills. I included some on the right edge of this drawing (you have to look pretty closely). It’s a long drive out here but so nice to get to the high desert and smell the sagebrush.
